DICE 2012 – Profile of IGC Finalist NITRONIC RUSH

At this week’s DICE Summit in Las Vegas, the 3rd annual Indie Game Challenge took place. We decided to profile some of the games selected as finalists. In case of NITRONIC RUSH, this is final year student project from DigiPen University. While not driving at the same time, Kyle Holdwick, grants us a pay-by-pay of the action, from this “survival driving game” (nice creative genre infusing there). His commentary also provides an overview of the game’s development and some of the things that most inspired them. Fans of Midway’s rather long defunct arcade and console racing series – San Francisco Rush – may be happy to see this team carry the torch in a world where publishers won’t. NITRONIC RUSH is free to download for PC for the link listed below. MW3 Spawn System is HORRIBLE | IW, Fix your F’n Game!

We played some open lobbies on the PC version of Modern Warfare 3 last night considering Steam offered free Multiplayer for the weekend, this particular game being Gun Game. This game is an excellent example of how bad the spawn system is in Modern Warfare 3. The game itself is pretty hilarious, but if I had to play the game like this on an ongoing basis, I would snap the disc in half. Thanks to everyone who came out! The introduction of full motion control enabled by the Wii MotionPlus™ accessory synchronizes player movements with Link’s actions while offering the most intuitive play control of any game in The Legend of Zelda franchise to date. FEATURES: • Thanks to the required Wii MotionPlus accessory, every movement of Link’s sword matches the player’s motion with exact precision. If players motion left to right, Link™ swings from left to right. good old nintendo for putting this into sports resort. originally this was in wii sports as an easter egg which would give you an automatic strike if the wall were to travel on the ball guard and successful go down all the way to the end. it would hit some sort of switch and an explosion sort of sound would go off. this has returned to wii sports and i am very well glad it did :P but just like “off the wall” video, i had done this quite a while ago but never put it up. (i did this originally on the july 27th :P )
